Chambert in the press

In the Press

In 1690 Château Chambert vineyard's already covered the finest terroir of the upper pateau of Cahors, in South-West France. For over 300 years, its Malbec wine was enjoyed by Kings, Popes in Avignon, in Czarist Russia and officers in Bordeaux. Exported all over Europe, it was known in England as 'Black Wine'.

Today,
Philippe Lejeune pursues excellence on that vineyard of over 145 acres of vines. The limestone soils of clay with red iron oxide produce unusually refined wines with good minerality. Biodynamics crop (Ecocert certification started in 2009). Stephane Derenoncourt consults.
