In 1690 Château Chambert vineyard's already covered the finest
terroir of the upper pateau of Cahors, in South-West France. For over
300 years, its Malbec wine was enjoyed by Kings, Popes in Avignon, in Czarist
Russia and officers in Bordeaux. Exported all over Europe, it was
known in England as 'Black Wine'.
Today,
pursues excellence on that vineyard of over
145 acres of vines. The limestone soils of clay with red iron oxide
produce unusually refined wines with good minerality. Biodynamics crop
(Ecocert certification started in 2009).
